Privacy notice

This notice explains how Heritage Steward handles personal data when you use this website and get in touch with us. It is written to meet the UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018, and the EU GDPR, and to be clear for visitors in the United States as well.

Who we are

Heritage Steward provides operations software for heritage organisations. For the personal data described here, we are the data controller. You can reach us at privacy@heritagesteward.com.

What we collect

When you complete the contact form we collect your name, organisation, email address, optional role, and the message you send. When you browse the site we may collect limited technical information such as your device type and pages viewed, but only where you have given consent to analytics cookies.

Why we use it, and our lawful basis

We use your contact details to reply to your enquiry and, if it leads somewhere, to arrange a walkthrough. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us, and taking steps at your request before any agreement. Analytics data is used only to improve the site, on the basis of your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry details for as long as needed to deal with your request and for a reasonable period afterwards, then delete them. Analytics data is retained for a limited period in line with the cookie settings you choose.

Your rights

You have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to data portability. If you are in the UK you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office; in the EU, to your local supervisory authority. Residents of some US states have similar rights, including to know what we hold and to ask us to delete it.

Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers who help us run the site and respond to you, under contracts that require them to protect it.
